Southwest Test & Balance of Oklahoma City is certified by the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) as a Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) firm. As a leader in this industry, we are committed to providing the very best of HVAC Total System Balancing.
Southwest Test & Balance (SWTB) is an independent, NEBB certified, Test and Balance Firm, established in 1998. SWTB was originally established as a continuation of the former R&B Equipment Company, Test and Balance Division. All rights, and certificates held through National Environmental Balancing Bureau were acknowledged and transferred to establish Southwest Test and Balance as an independent, certified Test and Balance company.
Since our beginnings, we have and will continue to strive for excellence in our employees, and in the services we provide to our customers.
What We Do:
SWTB has industry leading experience and resources necessary to achieve the highest standards possible for all services offered.
The Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) phase of any building construction or renovation is intended to verify that all HVAC air, water flows, and system pressures meet the design requirements established by engineers, architects, and NEBB. We do not often find an HVAC system of any size that will perform to its full potential without the benefit of final adjustments. SWTB believes that TAB is the single most integral part of a building's health, as well as providing maximum occupant comfort at the lowest energy cost possible.
In addition to Test and Balance of HVAC systems, we offer many other services.
SWTB utilizes the most advanced equipment and measurement techniques in order to Test, Adjust, & Balance Air and Hydronic HVAC systems. We perform testing at Hospitals, Schools, Government Buildings, Kitchens, Labs, etc.

SWTB performs surveying services in order to obtain current conditions for use in re-engineering and/or improvements to already existing HVAC systems. Surveying is also a useful tool in trouble shooting existing HVAC systems.
In an effort to reduce energy losses and the cost of operating HVAC systems, SWTB performs Duct Air Leakage Testing (DALT). To perform Duct Air Leakage Testing, specialized equipment is used to identify a potential energy loss by measuring the leakage rate within a system of ductwork. New building codes often require that the ductwork is sufficiently airtight to promote energy conservation, ensure control of air movement, and humidity. Identifying potential energy losses in new and existing HVAC ductwork, is paramount to an overall reduction in energy use and operational costs.
Sound and Vibration is most commonly performed as a commissioning function of the building process but can be performed at any time, on any project. One of the most overlooked areas in building systems testing is the proper level of sound and vibration. This is a shame, because most of the sound or vibration issues that need to be corrected at the end of the project usually could have been avoided through proper management during the project. Knowing what to look for and what standards to follow can make all the difference.Read More
SWTB performs Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning per NEBB standards and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) requirements. We have NEBB certified commissioning agents on staff with the experience necessary to take a project from the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR) to the Acceptance Phase and beyond. We believe that through effective project management the owner will receive the best possible product that will function as intended.
Surgical / Isolation Rooms
Room airflow may present a real challenge when balancing an HVAC system. Most health facilities require a minimum number of ACH to meet code.
An air change is how many times the air enters and exits a room from the HVAC system in one hour.
Indoor pollution sources that release gases or particles into the air are the primary cause of indoor air quality problems in buildings/homes of all sizes. Inadequate ventilation can increase indoor pollutant levels by not bringing in enough outdoor air to dilute emissions from indoor sources and by not carrying indoor air pollutants out of the buildingRead More
